A small Android studio, working remotely

Bal Company

We make Bal — an app you keep on the first home screen because you open it every day.

How we build and keep Bal

One app, not a portfolio

Bal is the only thing this studio publishes. Every hour of work goes into the app you install, which is why fixes land instead of queueing behind other products.

Tested on real Android hardware

Each build goes on a shelf of phones — old, new, small screens, big ones — before it reaches Google Play. Emulators catch the easy bugs; handsets catch the rest.

Updates that say what changed

Every release ships with notes in human language: what we fixed, what moved, what is still on the list. No 'bug fixes and improvements'.

Feedback goes to the people writing the code

Reports and suggestions land with the team, not a ticket farm. If your idea is on the roadmap, we tell you; if it is not, we tell you that too.

Ways to get involved

Install it, help shape it, or come to us with a question about the studio.

What people tell us

★★★★★
I opened it, understood it, and did the thing I came to do. That almost never happens on the first try with a new app.
Marta
★★★★☆
Reported something odd on an older phone and it was fixed in the next update. The notes even mentioned it.
Dev
★★★★★
No account wall before I could look around, and nothing shouting at me from the corner of the screen. I kept it.
Oliwia
